Polyline shape file containing the ordered river network for the Amazon Aquatic Ecosystem Watershed. Rivers and streams from 1st - 11th order, as defined by Stahler (1957), are included. First order streams were delimited with a drainage threshold of ~90 ha. Since this is larger than the basin size of 10 -50 ha normally attributed to 1st order streams in the Central Amazon, stream order may be underestimated by 1.
Variables

Description

OBJECTID

Object identifier

LENGTHKM

The length (km) of each segment

Shape_Length

Length in degrees - NOT USE

river_order

River order with Strahler (1957) classification system

",
